Be sure you have activated your Online Community Account
Our Club was an early Hivebrite adopter. However, since last fall, many more regional Clubs, Classes, and Affinity Groups have migrated to Hivebrite. To take advantage of all that Hivebrite has to offer, and to register for our events, be sure to activate your MIT Online Community Account if you haven't done so already.
Visit alumcommunity.mit.edu. If your account is already activated, you will be "Welcomed Back."
If you are not already activated, click the Login button to be directed to the Infinite Connection (IC) login page.
Enter your IC account credentials, click Login, and you will be directed back to the Online Community account activation page.
The first time you log in, you will be prompted to answer a few questions and verify your information. (Note: Not all fields are mandatory.)
Once you log in, explore the MIT Alumni Online Community. Click "Alumni Groups" at the top of the page. You will see MIT Club of South Texas as one of "My Alumni Groups." Click on the card to open our site. You can also click to join other groups or request to join private groups.
Make sure you're logged in when viewing our website. Certain features such as the Media Center are only available to those with activated online community accounts.
EFL Reminder: If you use MIT's EFL (Email Forwarding for Life @alum.mit.edu), please be aware that the system was shut down from about 2 pm Sunday, March 31 to about 10 am Monday, April 1 because of excessive spam being sent from a compromised alumni email account. Any emails received by the EFL server during this time were not forwarded.
You can login to your alum Outlook mailbox to view the emails that were sent to you and not forwarded during this outage. Access your MIT email account at http://outlook.office.com. Sign in with your alumni email address. If you’re prompted to choose between work or school or personal account, choose the work or school account option. It's a good idea to check your MIT email account once and a while because some email providers such as Google, ATT, and Yahoo have restrictive policies that can reject emails forwarded from EFL.
