MITCoSTx Events in January

Check our website and newsletters for upcoming events. All MIT Club of South Texas events are open to MIT undergraduate and graduate alumni, parents of MIT students and alumni, and current students.

Friday, January 10, 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Living with the Gods: Art, Beliefs, and Peoples explores how has humanity given form to spiritual beliefs across time and cultures. We will have an exclusive VIP tour of the expansive exhibition which includes more than 200 objects from the past 4,000 years. Our guide will be Medha Karve (S '81, P '08). The Museum of Fine Arts is open until 9:00 pm on Fridays and there is a cash bar in the foyer for members to enjoy a drink after the tour. There are a limited number of tickets remaining. Register now! $5 fee includes museum admission.

Wednesday, January 22, 5:00 to 10:00 pm. What a difference a year makes! The Rockets are one of the hottest teams in the NBA with young stars like Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. Watch the Rockets pre-game shoot-around followed by a fireside Q&A discussion with GM Rafael Stone. Then the Rockets take on the equally hot Cleveland Cavaliers. $50 for dues-paid members.

Sunday, February 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm - Toast to IAP at the Barrel Room, Great Heights Brewing Company. Details to come.
