Create your own MITCoSTx program - Host an in-person or a virtual meeting with a local flavor. Got a topic you would like to hear about? Is there a topic you would like to share with local alums? Topics can be technical, medical, business, or just something to lighten the mood. The Golf Outing is a great example of an alum-organized event. Contact Sophie Sun, our VP Programs.

News About Your MITCoSTx Membership

The MIT Club of South Texas is transitioning from calendar year paid memberships to rolling memberships. This means that you can expect a full year of membership benefits regardless of when you pay dues. These benefits include reduced prices for many of our events and dues-paid-member-only events such as CERAWeek. Your dues also help support the community and STEM outreach programs sponsored by the Club. We will be sending more details soon in a separate email.

Community Service Corner

This past Saturday, 20 alums, parents, and families volunteered at Rescued Pets Movement, a no-kill rescue that saves animals from area shelters, often from the euthanasia list, and sends them to out-of-state adoption centers. We worked on crates, walked the older dogs, bathed puppies, washed and dried doggie bowls and made dog treats. You can find more photos from the event in the Club's Media Center. You must be logged in to Hivebrite to access this area. In addition to the volunteer hours put in by our members, the MIT Club of South Texas has donated $200 to Rescued Pet Movement as part of our Matching Donation Program.

The Community Service Team is looking for volunteers to help plan our future community service efforts. If interested, email [email protected].

Our website profiles alumni and parent volunteers. Read them here. If you know someone who you think should be included, contact the Community Service Team.
