  • Annual Holiday Party - Sunday, December 8th, 2:00 - 5:00 pm: Save the date!

Create your own MITCoSTx program - Host an in-person or a virtual meeting with a local flavor. Got a topic you would like to hear about? Is there a topic you would like to share with local alums? Topics can be technical, medical, business, or just something to lighten the mood. The Golf Outing is a great example of an alum-organized event. Contact Sophie Sun, our VP Programs.

MIT Club of South Texas Community Service Matching Donation Program Update

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School VEX Robotics Competition Team was the recipient of a $1000 check from the MIT Club of South Texas as part of the MIT Club of South Texas Community Service Matching Donation Program. Alan Cisar ’73 and Marilyn Taggi Cisar ‘76 volunteered over 200 hours with the middle school robotics team for the 2023-24 school year. The team of twenty 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders built three robots to compete in several tournaments, and won a Judges Award for fielding a competitive robot at their very first event. The teacher/coach for the team is Kelly Murphy.

The team will use the donation to purchase the field parts for the 2024-25 tournament, High Stakes, and to pay the admission for a tournament. For more information on the VEX robotics program check out this video.

The Community Service Team is looking for volunteers to help plan our future community service efforts. If interested, email [email protected].

Our website profiles alumni and parent volunteers. Read them here. If you know someone who you think should be included, contact the Community Service Team.

MIT Email Forwarding for Life

People using their alum.mit.edu accounts for forwarding to another email account are often finding that the forwarded mail has been caught by a spam filter and doesn't make it to the designated account. It is best practice to check your alum.mit.edu Outlook account on a regular basis. Go to https://outlook.office.com/mail/ and sign in with your alum.mit.edu email address. You will then be prompted to sign in to the Infinite Connection. You can opt to stay signed in.

If you continue to use your @alum.mit.edu address as a forwarding address, email sent to your @alum.mit.edu address will go to the inbox of your alumni Outlook account AND forward to your specified forwarding address(es). That's the default setting. An email-forwarding-only service, with no storage of email, is not an option.

For more information, check out the Alumni Email FAQ.

MIT at the Astros

The 'Stros may have come up a little short in the playoffs but they made the second half of the season very exciting. And members of the MIT Club along with Northwestern Alumni had a great time at the game on August 20.
